ART THOUGHTS ELEVEN

A painter paints the appearance of things, not their objective correctness, in fact he creates new appearances of things. Ernst Ludwig Kirchner

To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams. Giorgio de Chirico

A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing. William Dobell

love love love these quotes - especially de chirico's - have read them all before and actually had thought of de chirico's for either my dream blog or the travel journal - in any event - so on point for many things other than art -

i would like to mention your comment over at my place today - didn't feel really comfortable responding as i wanted over there as i do not wish to cause discomfort to anyone - however, your comment about other blogs so hit home to me especially today because i am very aware of how different mine are - or how different others' blogs are - i mean, i see blog after blog after blog on cucumbers or squash or dog walking or in-depth personal intimate diary-type entries - whatever - and there are TONS of comments to those - you see how few my posts garner - and i have to wonder of the lives of those people - and that is not at all to say that i do not enjoy the lighter fare and appreciate it for what it is - i do - and i do - in any event, without further rambling, i have of late been more aware of that particular "different perspective" - [it's a character flaw of mine that i do not always realize that not everyone thinks/acts as i do]!

again, thanks ever so much for coming by and leaving a note - and have a wonderful remainder of the day! see you soon! - j

My Dear Silent,Southern Man,

I am torn between the first and last quotes, love them all. Glad to see that you are still alive and kicking.

At the moment I am making art with pieces of silicone, if you squish them and tweedle them enough, they assume the likeness of boogers (great to add to my husband's lunches). I will also be attaching them to Adam's motorcycle, prior to making a hole in the gas tank with my rifle. (Just joking about the hole). No worries, just a little daydream on my part.

ciao,
Lisa
